Performance Analysis Methods for List-Based Caches With Non-Uniform Access

چکیده

List-based caches can offer lower miss rates than single-list caches, but their analysis is challenging due to state space explosion. In this setting, we propose novel methods analyze performance for a general class of list-based with tree structure, non-uniform access items and lists, random or first-in first-out replacement policies. Even though the underlying Markov process shown admit product-form solution, difficult exploit large caches. Thus, develop approximations cache metrics, in particular by means singular perturbation method refined mean field approximation. We compare accuracy these approaches simulations, finding that our new rapidly converge equilibrium distribution as number capacity grow fixed ratio. find they are much more accurate point similar prior work, average errors typically below 1.5% even very small Our models also generalized account synchronous requests, fetch latency, item sizes, extending applicability

Non Uniform Rational B Spline (NURBS) Based Non-Linear Analysis of Straight Beams with Mixed Formulations

Displacement finite element models of various beam theories have been developed traditionally using conventional finite element basis functions (i.e., cubic Hermite, equi-spaced Lagrange interpolation functions, or spectral/hp Legendre functions). Various finite element models of beams differ from each other in the choice of the interpolation functions used for the transverse deflection w, tota...

a new type-ii fuzzy logic based controller for non-linear dynamical systems with application to 3-psp parallel robot

abstract type-ii fuzzy logic has shown its superiority over traditional fuzzy logic when dealing with uncertainty. type-ii fuzzy logic controllers are however newer and more promising approaches that have been recently applied to various fields due to their significant contribution especially when the noise (as an important instance of uncertainty) emerges. during the design of type- i fuz...

OpenMP performance analysis for many-core platforms with non-uniform memory access

One of the first steps in embedded-system design flow is to choose the most efficient implementation of the embedded software application. However, this is difficult to do at the earliest design stages because particular details of the final manycore HW platform are usually unknown and many possible mappings of the software tasks/threads have to be evaluated. This paper presents a complete fram...

NUCA: A Non-Uniform Cache Access Architecture for Wire-Delay Dominated On-Chip Caches

This paper describes Non-Uniform Cache Access (NUCA) designs, which solve the on-chip wire delay problem for future large integrated caches. These designs embed a network into the cache itself, allowing data to migrate within the cache, clustering the working set in the cache region nearest to the processor. Today’s high performance processors incorporate large level-two (L2) caches on the proc...

Efficient Cache Replacement for Non-uniform Objects in Web Caches

With the prevalence of wide-area distributed environments such as the WWW, caching of remote objects is becoming increasingly important. However, due to the non-uniformity of data objects in these environments, design of an efficient cache replacement algorithm becomes an even more difficult problem compared to the traditional caching problems. This article discusses some important issues that ...
